This dataset will primarily be used by the ESP Open Space & Social Policy Team. <DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV>The Council Controlled Social Infrastructure layer forms part of Figures 40-46 in the Social Infrastructure (SI) Network Blueprint (Part C) of the Environment and Liveability Strategy. It represents existing categories of: Community health and safety; Community use and Sport and recreation. The purpose of this dataset is to provide an overview of the Council Controlled land area which has been dedicated to each of the SI categories within the ELS. It is an internal only layer that was created using information from the 2017 ELS Community Facilities (land) layer as well as GIS.EnvvecCouncilControlledOpenSpace, GIS.StruvecBuildingFootprints2018 and GIS.StruvecFacilitiesSCRC. The dataset has been designed to complement the Strategic Open Space (GIS.EnvvecCouncilControlledOpenSpace) dataset. It will sit on top of the OS layer and areas that are within the OS can be identified via the OSFeatureID field. The OSSecondaryCategory is also be recorded in the dataset. Social infrastructure (SI) that is the only infrastructure on the lot (ie. the lot boundary captures just the SI and nothing else). • Map the full lot, using the existing lot boundary. • Where the ELS layer doesn't match the lot boundary exactly the layer boundaries should be updated to match the ‘correct’ boundary that fully captures the SI. • Where the lot is significantly larger than the facility and it is obvious that only a small portion is being used by the SI aerial imagery will be used to define the area used by the SI. (Examples Nambour SES and Maroochy Beach Gymnastics) • Where the facility sits on multiple lots the largest lot is recorded in the lotplan field and the additional lots are be recorded in the “AdditionalLotPlans” field. (e.g. Caloundra library). 2. Social infrastructure (SI) that is located within a larger lot that contains other infrastructure (ie. the boundary captures more than just the SI). • Where the SI is located within an open space park or sportsground a boundary has been created around the SI facility. The building footprint has been used for indoor facilities. The GIS building footprints layer (GIS.StruvecBuildingFootprints2018) was used as the first point of reference. Where the footprint appeared incorrect it was digitised from the Aerial_2019_SCC imagery. • Where the facility sits within another building it is mapped as closely as possible to its gross floor area. • Boundaries for outdoor facilities (i.e. Aquatic Centres) have been delineated using the aerial imagery and the corporate Open Space dataset (GIS.EnvvecCouncilControlledOpenSpace) datasets. 3. Carparks • Where a car park is clearly associated with the SI, and dedicated to the SI use, it has been included in the lot boundary. • Where a car park is a shared use between more than just the SI, it is not included within the SI boundary. Imagery from Nearmap and Google street view was used to verify the data. Currency of the information was verified using websites for the facilities. The facility manager and land source have not been identified for existing facilities. This information will be recorded for new facilities that are loaded in the future.
